Why Hasn't The Petition Been Sent Yet?
Through media contacts, we learned in June that Willis Group was aware of our petition and the overwhelming number of signatures it received. With that in mind, the June delivery date was postponed to allow more signatures to be added.
Long before the official renaming of the Sears Tower to Willis Tower, statements to the media from Willis Group made it clear that they were going forward with the name change despite the public objections.
So that everyone can have an opportunity to sign the petition, we have delayed the physical printing until a later date. Our efforts have not gone unnoticed by Willis and we have succeeded in our goal of letting them know that history should be preserved!
If you have not yet signed, please do so. We will deliver the petition to Willis Group this summer and encourage them to restore the Sears Tower name.
